When You Get Ready to Upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7…

September 9th, 2009 by Robert McMillen • No Comments

I’ve been a faithful XP user for years now and still believe it offers great performance and compatibility for most users.

After watching all of the problems with Vista during the early days I decided to stay on XP and enjoy the faster performance, ease of use and compatibility with my existing software.  When I got my new laptop it came with Vista, but I removed it and installed XP Professional which has been a great performer for me.

Now with Windows 7 about to be released, it appears that Microsoft has fixed most of the issues that kept me away from Vista.

The performance of Windows 7 is supposedly better than Vista (but not necessarily XP) and the compatibility issues are lessened.

I found this interesting article which you can download as a pdf that provides an outline on the process of upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7.   Rather than delving deep into the details this article provides an overview and helps you evaluate the effort required if and when you decide to upgrade to Windows 7.

You can download the PDF file on the process HERE.

Happy Upgrading!
